AGNES

Instead of providing a user with the new reference frame LV95 in a classical manner with site descriptions and coordinates, LV95 can be provided by using permanent and stable GNSS stations. The result of this approach is the Automated GNSS Network for Switzerland (AGNES).

Goals

The main goals are:

  • For surveying, AGNES is an online realization of the new reference system CHTRS95. Continuous observations provide a long-term contribution to the determination of the kinematic model CHKM95 for the Swiss geodetic reference system CHTRS95
  • In cadastral surveying, AGNES should promote the use of the new reference frame LV95 and help advance the rapid change from the old to the new reference system (see project «Transfer of the Cadastral Survey into LV95»)
  • AGNES forms the basis for the swipos Positioning Service
  • Scientific applications in geodynamics and atmosphere research

The AGNES stations are operating and cover the entire country.

Detailed information to the individual stations can be obtained by clicking on the desired station.
